Download and save the latest driver version according to your OS version and architecture. Install the latest drivers you have downloaded before. It grandly announced "Success" at the end, this time with no prompt to reboot. And again, the driver is not updated. I repeated the process 4 times, as the wireless adapter kept popping back up, until it kept returning with driver version It would not roll back further or completely uninstall beyond that version.

Anyway, after rebooting yet again, I tried reinstalling the current version. Once completed, I checked the driver version in Device Manager and it shows as Out of an abundance of caution, I also downloaded the installer from the link you had provided. It seems to be identical. However, nonetheless, I tried installing from that file. It did not seem to make any difference - I was prompted to repair, which I did, and then the program ended with "Success".

View solution in original post. Hi Neil, May I know the Operating system installed? From where did you try and install the drivers? Thanks, I was able to upgrade using the link you provided. The strange thing is that I got the errors using the drivers from Dell. I then tried using the Intel site to automatically detect my driver and it said I was up to date but I did not have ver 16 installed so obviously that did not work correctly.

Now for an additional question. Thanks for your help. Hi Neil, It should actually show Version Before installing the wireless drivers, did you uninstall the previous one? I know at one point Intel told me to manually unistall previous driver and I did that from "Programs and Feature". I also tried to click on the "yes" that your response answered the question but it would not register the "yes". Browse Community.
